Writings from Now

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I have a similar picture of me and my Dad when I was about 10. I don’t remember what he was doing on the car but I am sure I wasn’t thrilled to be there.

I am really amazed how many people depend daily on their cars but know absolutely nothing about how they run. When I was growing up I wasn’t expected to be a mechanic but I was expected to know how to jump start a car, change the oil, fix a flat and other basic maintenance. I guess since i’ve had a life time of driving rust buckets it has kept me on my toes on how to keep them on the road but it has definitely saved me countless dollars in mechanic bills. Auto shop proved to be one of the most valuable classes I took.
